I.5 Installation
1) Prepare a clean, level surface.
NOTE: This instrument is a sensitive load measuring device. It should be installed on a
clean, solid and level bench surface which is free from external vibrations.
2) UnpackandremovetheLFRATextureAnalyzerfromtheshippingcontainer.
TheLFRATextureAnalyzerweighs15kg(33pounds).Usecautionwhenliftingthe
unit out of the packaging.
3) PlacetheLFRATextureAnalyzeronasturdy,levelsurface.Adjustthefourfeettoensure
that the instrument is stable.
4) Remove any additional components from the shipping package. Save the shipping container
and packaging for future use.
5) MakesurethattheACpowerswitchattherearoftheLFRATextureAnalyzerisintheOFF
position. Connect the power cord to the socket on the back panel of the instrument and plug
it into the appropriate AC line. Position instrument so that the power cord can be removed
easily.
The AC input voltage and frequency must be within the appropriate range as shown
on the model and serial tag of the instrument (located on the back of the LFRA).
TheLFRATextureAnalyzermustbeearthgroundedtoensureagainstelectronicfail-
ure!
6) If appropriate, connect interconnecting cable which is supplied with TexturePro Lite software
to the serial port for connection to a computer.
7) TurnthepowerswitchtotheONposition.Thestartupscreenwillindicatethermware
version and load range of the LFRA (Figure II.1).
